Lake Vermilion Fishing Report from Ace Guide Service

Hi All,
The walleye action has been feast or famine much of this week. Moments of glory, surrounded by hours of frustration. Some of the best action has been on crankbaits in the shallows. It is however a very short window of opportunity.

The midday bite has been the toughest but there are fish available. Deep points and shoreline breaks have produced well for me at times. Jigs and a crawler work well off the sharp drops and a bottom bouncer with a spinner crawler combo, have worked well along the shoreline breaks.

The bass action has been pretty good on just about any presentation. Soft plastics, cranks, spinnerbaits and topwaters have all produced well this week. Prime locations have been docks, points, reeds, saddle areas and the shoreline rubble.

The muskie action has been hot at times but most of the fish I have seen just want to look at my bait and move on. I have been concentrating more on the inshore rockpiles and mainlake points this week. There are still fish in the shallow grass but they seem uninterested in eating anything until evening. Gliders, hair, and jerkbaits have been getting the most attention for me this week. Have a great week everyone and please remember to put some back. "Ace"
