Here is a picture of Barry Thompson with a 8 pound walleye caught through the ice on Loon Lake

Here is a photo of a nice 8 pound fish caught new years day in southern Minnesota. Notice the dimple shaped wound on her back, probably evidence of being snagged at a much earlier age.

I was jigging a one-eighth ounce pink and white maribou tipped with a small crappie minnow in 8 feet of water when she took the bait. The fight lasted 3 or 4 minutes as I only had 4 pound test line. The whole time the line was scraping around the bottom of my ice hole, I was sure she would break off but I got lucky.
